Jim Calhoun's 2009-2010 season didn't go as planned. The Huskies finished the season 18-16 and failed to make the NCAA Tournament. So when the 2010-2011 season rolled around expectations weren't as high as they normally were in Storrs.
A 10-0 start started to turn some heads but a 9-9, 9th place finish in the BIG EAST didn't scream Final Four bound. Enter Kemba Walker.
The junior guard from the Bronx went nuts in Madison Square Garden at the BIG EAST Tournament leading the Huskies to 5 straight wins, 4 over nationally ranked opponents, to capture the BIG EAST crown.
As the #3 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament UConn marched into the Sweet 16 after easy wins over Bucknell and Cincinnati. Two more wins put including a 74-67 win over #2 seed San Diego State and #5 seed Arizona put Calhoun in the Huskies in the Final Four.
Two classic defensive battles later and the school had its 3rd National Title taking down Kentucky and finally Butler to win it all.
