Led by All-American Hollis Price, the 2001-2002 Oklahoma Sooners went 2404 during the regular season and captured the Big 12 Tournament title after knocking off #1 Kansas, 64-55. That earned the Sooners a #2 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament.
An 8 point win over #15 seed Illinois-Chicago and a 13 point win over #7 Xavier put OU in the Sweet 16. After a dominating win over #3 seed Arizona, Oklahoma was one win away from the Final Four. To get there they would have to beat conference foe, #12 seed Missouri. Powered by a big first half, OU was able to hang on to punch their ticket, 81-75.
Their season would end in an 73-64 defeat to #5 seed Indiana in the Final 4.
