Iowa State Cyclones 1987-1988 Retro Shorts
Size
The 1987-88 Iowa State Cyclones climbed the AP Poll after starting the season 16-2. Led by senior All-American Jeff Grayer and senior running mate Lafester Rhodes the Cyclones were ranked as high as #10 in the country. A mid season losing streak couldn't keep Johnny Orr's club from finishing 20-12 and making another NCAA Tournament.
Grayer would finish his career at Iowa State with 3 All Big-8 First Team selections, 4 straight All Defensive team selections, was a member of 3 NCAA teams, and left ISU as the 4th all-time leading scorer in conference history.
"He's simply the most complete player I've ever coached."
