The 1986-87 Indiana Hoosiers had a certain flair for the dramatic. Through the regular season, they pulled out nail biters against several teams, including last second heroics against UNC-Wilmington, Michigan and Minnesota. It was a trend that would continue in the NCAA Tournament as IU needed a Ricky Calloway tip-in to beat LSU in the Regional Final and then “The Shot” by Keith Smart against Syracuse to give Bobby Knight his third and final National Championship.
