Purdue Boilermakers 1992-1993 Retro Shorts (Away)
Size
Coming off a disappointing '91-92 season the Boilermaker faithful had reason to be optimistic entering the '92-93 season. His name was Glenn Robinson. In his first year playing for Purdue the "Big Dog" averaged 24 points and 9 rebounds a game earning him 1st team All Big Ten and 2nd team All American honors.
The Boilermakers finished the regular season a respectable 18-9, ranked #22 in the final AP Poll and entered the tournament as the #9 seed in the East. A disappointing opening round loss to Rhode Island couldn't squash the foundation that the '93 Boilers laid.
Purdue would win the next three Big Ten titles and Robinson, who was a part of the first of the three, would go on to be one of Purdue's most decorated players of all time.
"Glenn was the easiest player to coach that ever played for me. He enjoyed practices and loved to compete. He was a dream to have as a player." -Gene Keady
