The 1993-1994 Florida Gators entered the season under the radar and unranked. It didn't take long for the nation to realize Lon Kruger's Gators were a force. After going 25-7 and winning the SEC Regular Season Championship, UF ended the season ranked #14 in the AP Poll.

Florida earned the #3 seed in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament where they barely squeaked by #14 seed James Madison before beating Penn to clinch a spot in the Sweet 16. An epic 69-60 OT win over #2 UConn put UF one game away from the Final Four.

Standing in the way was Bill Curley, Howard Eisley and Boston College. Led by Craig Brown's 21 points and Andrew DeClerq's double double the Gators secured the schools first trip to the Final Four, 74-66.

A five point loss to Duke in Charlotte didn't diminish what the '94 Gators accomplished.

"The hard work. The running. The lifting. The early morning practices and offseason workouts. Now we get to do something that most teams only dream about." -Brian Thompson, Florida Forward
