Baylor '21 National Champs Heavy Tee
The Baylor Bears entered the 2020-2021 season with championship aspirations under head coach Scott Drew. Powered by an elite backcourt featuring Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, and MaCio Teague, the Bears dominated throughout the year, finishing the regular season 22-2, including a 13-1 record in the Big 12 Conference.
The Bears earned a #1 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament. Wins over Hartford, Wisconsin, and Villanova set up an Elite Eight matchup with Arkansas. The Bears controlled the game from start to finish, punching their ticket to the Final Four.
After defeating Houston 78-59 in the national semifinal, Baylor advanced to the National Championship to face the previously unbeaten Gonzaga Bulldogs. Behind Butler’s 22 points and Mitchell’s relentless defense, the Bears dominated the game from the opening tip, cruising to an 86-70 victory and capturing the program’s first National Championship.
