The King of Park Hill put Colorado Buffaloes basketball back on the native. Denver native Chauncey Billups chose his home state over a slew of other programs vying for the McDonald's All American.

Billups would go on to earn 2nd Team All American honors his sophmore year while leading the Buffs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly 3 decades. He pours in 20 points in the first half against #8 seed Indiana in a rout of the Hoosiers causing IU's legendary coach, Bob Knight to walk 2.5 miles home from the arena to the hotel in a downpour.

He would leave school for the NBA after Colorado's 2nd round loss to #1 UNC where he would be selected #3 overall by the Boston Celtics.
