The four women that you see on the cover of SLAM 232 have all played a part in helping the WNBA reach a historic 25th season, making it the longest-running women’s sports league ever. Skylar Diggins-Smith is one of the first women to bring a large social media following to the W and she’s a dynamic guard with the ability to create for others or for herself. Nneka Ogwumike, a former MVP and champion, is the President of the WNBA Players Association. She has represented all 144 women of the W for the last five years as they’ve consistently pushed for social justice against racism and police brutality. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi, two of the best players ever, have been part of the group that has elevated the W’s on-court talent to skyscraper heights. Their WNBA careers are both nearing the twenty-year marks and all of their accomplishments deserve more space than we can provide here.
These four women discuss multiple topics in a wide-ranging interview featured in Issue 232. The rest of the magazine features an exclusive interview with J. Cole, a sit-down with Julius Randle and RJ Barrett and, most importantly, a tribute to Terrence Clarke from the people that knew him best.
The Black Metal version of SLAM 232 features raised, black metal lettering across the entire front cover and is limited to only 60 copies in the entire world.
