Founders Alexander Martin Jr. and Christian Martin are two Filipino-American brothers based in the Bay Area who quickly established themselves as successful entrepreneurs in the streetwear industry.
Alexander, founder and creative director of Who Cares Supply Co which he founded 2017. A lifestyle brand curated to inspire and empower individuals to live their best life without limits, which they are able to express through their design and apparel.
Christian, the founder of Collect and Select which he founded in 2012. A clothing brand striving to gather and bring together vintage sportswear designs with modern streetwear twists to curate nostalgic pieces for all.
After creating countless items individually, The Martin brothers combined their passion for basketball and designing clothes to come up with their first collaboration together which was their “WHAT THE” swingman shorts. The widely known design comprised of a mash up of 13 NBA teams’ retro designs. A pastel colorway and "WHAT THE PT II" released soon after which led to multiple sold out collections in minutes worn by notable athletes, celebrities, influencers, and supporters across the nation.
Their love for basketball began in grade school where they both played for their school team at Saint Leander’s in San Leandro. They both continued their basketball careers into high school at Bishop O’Dowd in Oakland. As their love of the game grew, their parents, Alexander Martin Sr and Maria Martin, would often take them to Golden State Warrior games at Oracle in the 2000s. Present day, the Martin Brothers witnessed 3 Golden State Championships and still attend games at Chase Center in San Francisco. To this day, they actively play in adult recreation leagues and private runs. Competing, playing, and meeting new people is why they love to play basketball.
