Nolan Richardson's Arkansas Razorbacks brought back most of his key pieces from the '94 National Championship team for a chance to repeat in '95.  That included Scotty Thurman and All-American Corliss Williamson.  They were as good as advertised in '95 with the "Big Nasty" averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds per game.

The pre-season #1 ranked Razorbacks finished the regular season 25-5 before losing in OT to #3 Kentucky in the SEC Tournament Championship game.

As the #2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament Arkansas got a scare in the first round by #15 seed Texas Southern.  They barely escaped with a win, 79-78.  It was a sign of things to come as the Razorbacks advanced to the Elite 8 after back to back overtime wins Syracuse and Memphis.

A 68-61 win over #4 Virginia put Arkansas back in the Final Four for the 2nd year in a row.  Their third Final Four in six years.  Williamson was tremendous in the Final Four run pouring in 92 points and pulling down 38 rebounds over the four game regional stretch.

Arkansas needed a strong 2nd half push to pull away from #2 seed North Carolina, 75-68.  Only #1 UCLA and the O'Bannon brothers stood in the way of back to back National Championships.

It turned out that April 3, 1995 was UCLA's night.  Behind Ed O'Bannon's 30 points and Toby Bailey's 26, UCLA beat Arkansas 89-78.

"I thought we were a little tired, but you've got to give UCLA all the credit.  Tonight, UCLA was the best basketball team."

-Nolan Richardson, Head Coach
